YIKES! This is year number 32 for me swimming Peaks to Portland on July 20 and I'm going strong (just swimming a little slower)! Although my time gets longer every year as I zigzag the 2.4 miles across Casco Bay to the finish line at East End Beach, my goal to raise money for the Y gets bigger. I've decided this 66 year old body is never going to get any faster so I'm putting more effort into raising more money for the Y.
As you know, the swim benefits kids at the Portland Y by giving scholarships to those who can't afford to learn to swim, go to summer camp or participate in other programs the Y offers.
You all have supported me in the past and I'm hoping you will again this year.
