I’m excited to participate in the YMCA of Southern Maine’s Virtual Swim for Kids between July 1 and July 31, 2022. (It’s one of the oldest open water swims in the United States – 2.4 miles! And the same distance as an IronMan Triathalon Swim!)
You may know of my strong connection with swimming - fostered by my papa, Tom Riker. He was involved in all things swim in the state of Maine. I more actively took up swimming about 18 months ago and am excited to do my first swim event (albeit virtual - watch out Casco Bay, I’m coming for you next year!) The swim community showed up fierce for my dad and I want to give back. The YMCA was also a place that Papa found community and fellowship, he was even featured as one of their “Members of the Month.” With my work at YMCA, I have seen first hand how impactful it is for community members of all ages and abilities! I thank you for your donation - for supporting me AND the YMCA!
All funds raised by me will help the Y deliver life-changing programs that inspire young potential, promote academic success, create connectivity and inclusion, and provide stability and normalcy as our community navigates these unprecedented times.
I’ll be thinking of you and the kids we’re helping while swimming 2.4 miles this summer!
